The Couples Therapy & Reunification Counseling Welcomes you!

Meet Maria Jessica Quiroz, the compassionate founder and clinical director of The Couples Therapy & Reunification Counseling. With over 15 years of dedicated education and hands-on experience, Maria isn't just a therapist – she's a trusted ally and advocate for individuals, couples, and families facing diverse challenges.

Maria's journey began with a deep commitment to serving her community, providing clinical treatment services tailored to individuals, couples, and families of all backgrounds, orientations, and stages of life. She's navigated a wide array of issues and dysfunctional family dynamics with grace and expertise, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

With a focus on crisis intervention, Maria has honed her skills in providing intensive, home-based services to prevent the psychiatric hospitalization of children and young adults. Her compassionate approach and unwavering dedication have made her a beacon of hope for families in their darkest moments.

Since 2011, Maria has dedicated her practice to supporting families undergoing parental separation, divorce, parental alienation, and reunification. Her goal? To help parents cultivate a civil and respectful co-parenting relationship while guiding families towards healing and reconnection.

Maria's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Mount St. Mary's University, with a special emphasis on counseling Spanish speakers. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she's deeply connected to her community in Montebello, CA, near Los Angeles.

At The Couples Therapy & Reunification Counseling, Maria takes an eclectic approach, drawing from a diverse range of modalities to tailor her interventions to each client's unique needs. From the renowned Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Bowen Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Maria is well-equipped to guide her clients towards lasting transformation.

Maria's dedication to her craft extends beyond her formal education. She's received specialized training from the Minuchin Center for the Family, where she was personally mentored by Linda J. Gottleib, a protégé of Dr. Salvador Minuchin, a pioneer in family therapy. This rich blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience equips Maria with the tools and insights needed to empower her clients on their journey towards healing and connection.

At TCTRC, Maria and her team are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families to explore their challenges, uncover their strengths, and chart a course towards a brighter future. Whatever your journey may be, Maria is here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
