Nubia Velasquez
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Bilingual Latina Therapist – Serving Montebello, CA
Specializing in Trauma, Identity Exploration, Relationship Healing, and Family Dynamics
I believe we all long for connection and belonging yet trauma upbringing and systemic barriers can leave us feeling unseen misunderstood and lonely. Healing is not linear, it can feel messy endless and exhausting. True healing begins when we stop abandoning ourselves and instead move through what we have been taught to avoid.
In therapy I offer a space where you do not have to filter your truth a space that embraces the parts of you you have kept hidden. When met with compassion and safety something begins to shift. I have supported adolescents in understanding the emotions beneath their behaviors young adults exploring identity and life transitions couples working through ruptures and survivors of sexual abuse and relational trauma as they reclaim their voices.
As a bilingual Spanish speaking first generation Latina therapist I approach therapy with an anti oppressive multicultural lens. I am committed to creating a space that is culturally responsive and affirming of all identities. My approach is relational and body centered guiding individuals back to internal awareness to the somatic cues sensations and messages the body holds. Our bodies often sense distress before our minds can name it. Together we tune into those signals and build safety from within.
What is it like to work with me?
The world can feel like too much, but you do not have to carry it alone. I will meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, without pressure, just presence, compassion, and understanding. When you heal, you change everything: your relationships, your community, and the generations that follow.
I work with couples and families to address conflict, repair ruptures, and strengthen emotional bonds. Whether navigating parenting challenges, relationship stress, or emotional distance, my sessions provide a collaborative and compassionate environment where growth and understanding can take root. I tailor each session to honor the unique history and needs of every relationship.
