We are a child faith based center dedicated to helping children and families find emotional safety, connection, healing, and peace. Our work is rooted in compassion, clinical care, family support, and respect for Christian and Catholic values.

Our founder, Maria Jessica Quiroz, LMFT, is a Christian with a heart for the Lord and a deep calling to support children, parents, blended families, and families who feel lost, overwhelmed, disconnected, or in need of peace in this world. Her heart for ministry, family healing, and emotional restoration shapes the compassionate care provided at our center.

We welcome families from Christian schools, Catholic schools, private schools, churches, Calvary communities, children’s ministries, youth ministries, blended family homes, stepfamily homes, and faith based homes who are looking for therapy that honors their values while providing professional emotional and family support.

Supporting Children From Christian & Catholic School Communities

Children today are facing anxiety, sadness, emotional pressure, peer conflict, school stress, family conflict, divorce, grief, blended family transitions, stepfamily adjustment, trauma, and confusion about their identity and purpose. Even children raised in strong faith based homes may struggle emotionally and need additional support.

A Child Faith Based Center for Emotional and Spiritual Support

Our center understands that children need more than behavior correction. Children need emotional safety, connection, guidance, structure, prayerful support, and adults who can help them understand what they are feeling.

We support children who may be struggling with:

Anxiety or fear
Sadness or emotional withdrawal
School stress
Peer conflict or bullying
Family separation or divorce
Blended family adjustment
Stepfamily transitions
Parent child conflict
Stepparent and child relationship challenges
Low self esteem
Anger or emotional outbursts
Grief or loss
Behavior changes at home or school
Difficulty trusting or opening up
Spiritual confusion or feeling disconnected from God
Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or alone

Our goal is to help children feel seen, heard, emotionally supported, and spiritually encouraged while helping parents, stepparents, and caregivers respond with wisdom, structure, compassion, and faith.

Faith Based Family Therapy for Parents, Stepparents, and Blended Families Who Need Support

Parents often reach out when they feel overwhelmed and unsure how to help their child. Blended families may also reach out when children are struggling with loyalty conflicts, adjustment issues, emotional distance, parenting differences, or difficulty accepting a new family structure.

You may be praying for your child, trying to guide them, and still feeling like your family needs more support.

Faith based family therapy can help parents, stepparents, and blended families:

Understand what is underneath their child’s behavior
Respond with calm instead of fear or frustration
Strengthen communication with their child
Support children through blended family transitions
Build healthier stepparent and child relationships
Reduce loyalty conflicts and emotional pressure on children
Rebuild emotional safety at home
Use faith, prayer, and compassion as part of the healing process
Create healthy structure and loving boundaries
Support their child through school stress or emotional pain
Work together as parents, coparents, or stepparents when family conflict is affecting the child
Bring peace, connection, and emotional repair back into the home

A Personal Note From Our Founder

As the founder of The Couples Therapy & Reunification Counseling, Child Centered Clinic, my heart for this work is deeply personal.

I was raised in a family with Catholic beliefs and attended Dolores Mission Elementary School, where faith, community, service, and compassion were part of my early foundation. I later continued my education at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, where I remained connected to Catholic values, spiritual formation, and the importance of purpose, discipline, and love for others.

Like many people, my faith journey has continued to grow and evolve throughout different seasons of life. Now, as an older adult, I find myself being called back to the Lord in a deeper and more meaningful way. This return to faith has reminded me of the importance of prayer, grace, forgiveness, healing, peace, and helping families find hope in a world that can often feel heavy and overwhelming.

My heart is especially drawn to children, parents, blended families, stepparents, and families who may feel lost, disconnected, anxious, emotionally burdened, or spiritually weary. I understand the value of having a faith foundation, and I also understand that families sometimes need both prayer and professional emotional support.

At our center, we honor families who come from Christian, Catholic, Calvary, blended family, stepfamily, and faith based communities. Our goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, child centered space where children, parents, stepparents, and caregivers can feel supported emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

This work is not only clinical for me. It is also a calling to serve families with love, humility, faith, and a heart for the Lord.

For Christian Schools, Catholic Schools, Calvary Communities, Churches, and Ministries

We welcome referrals from schools, churches, pastors, children’s ministries, youth ministries, and family support teams who are concerned about a child, parent, blended family, or family system.

Our practice may be a supportive referral resource for families dealing with:

Child anxiety
Emotional distress
Divorce or separation
Blended family adjustment
Stepfamily conflict
Stepparent and child relationship stress
Family conflict
Parent child disconnection
Behavior concerns
Grief and loss
Trauma informed emotional support
School adjustment concerns
Faith sensitive family counseling
High conflict coparenting concerns
Reunification and attachment repair when appropriate

We understand that Christian and Catholic schools often care deeply about the whole child: academic growth, emotional well being, character development, family support, and spiritual formation. Our therapy services are designed to support that same whole child perspective.

Therapy That Honors Faith Without Forcing Religion

Faith based therapy at our center means we honor your Christian values, your Catholic foundation, your family’s spiritual beliefs, and the role of prayer, hope, forgiveness, grace, and restoration in healing.

We do not pressure families spiritually. Instead, we provide clinically appropriate therapy that respects your faith and integrates spiritual values when the family desires it.

For families who want faith included, therapy may include:

Prayer informed reflection
Christian values around forgiveness, grace, love, and repair
Parent and stepparent guidance rooted in compassion and accountability
Support for children who feel spiritually or emotionally lost
Family conversations around hope, peace, and healing
Blended family conversations around belonging, trust, patience, and repair
Faith sensitive coping tools
Encouragement toward emotional and spiritual restoration

When Your Child Feels Lost, Overwhelmed, or Disconnected

Many children do not always know how to say, “I am hurting.” Instead, they may act out, shut down, become anxious, cry often, avoid school, become angry, or pull away from family.

Children in blended families may also struggle with divided loyalty, family changes, new roles, stepparent relationships, or feeling unsure where they belong.

At our child faith based center, we help children slow down, understand their emotions, and feel supported in a safe and compassionate environment.

We believe children need emotional tools, family support, and a sense of hope. For many families, faith is part of that hope.

Our Clinical and Faith Sensitive Approach

The Couples Therapy & Reunification Counseling uses a trauma informed, attachment based, child centered, and family focused approach.

Our work may include:

Child therapy
Family therapy
Blended family therapy
Stepfamily support
Parent coaching
Stepparent guidance
Parent child communication support
Stepparent and child relationship support
Attachment repair
Emotional regulation skills
Coping tools for anxiety and stress
Support with divorce or family transitions
Faith sensitive family support
Prayer aligned emotional support when requested
School collaboration when appropriate
Support for children in Christian or Catholic school communities

We believe healing happens when children feel emotionally safe, parents and stepparents feel supported, and families learn how to reconnect with love, structure, faith, and compassion.
